• as a rule, david was allowed to chose the names for the boys in the family, which meant that cordelia was not able to name any of her children until jocasta came along. jocasta was named after the greek mythology character who was oedipus' mother.



• growing up in a house full of boys, jo considers herself one of the boys and would often wrestle with her brothers and do other activities that could be seen as being male. although she did attend dance class and eventually acting class which helped her to break from this mold, she still feels most comfortable around males. that makes it particually tricky when she wants to be a "girly girl" but she does have a few close girlfriends to do those activities with.



• with four brothers who were loud and boisterious, it was hard for jocasta to have a voice and an opinion. an observer by nature, she will speak her mind when she is comfortable but assess the situation before even opens her mouth. this is the exact reason that she doesn't like to use any social media; she thinks it leads people to simply speak without thinking and she is not impulsive like that at all. although she was talked into a twitter account, she rarely uses it and when she does a lot of thought and consideration is put into it.



• even though jo doesn't believe in astrology, she reads her horoscope every day religiously and certainly believes that she is a pisces through and through. often throughout the day she'll find herself day dreaming or extremely sensitive about something and has to been known to place the blame of the fact that she is a pisces. her family tends to call her on it when she does it to them.



• jo has eight nephews and nieces between her four brothers and their wives. william and regina's kids are leo, margot, cecily and amelia. richard and katherine's kids are alfie, lennon and crispin. robert and poppy's child is kitty. jo is kitty's godmother and she spoils her completely rotten.



• when jo was younger she hated the fact that she had curly hair but as she grows older she really loves it and tends to leave it naturally curly when she isn't working.
